The Bahamas are a chain of islands laying in the Atlantic and therefore not truley Caribbean islands in the true sense, but still considered Caribbean by their close proximity to the area.

The Bahamas comprise some 700 islands, providing a total landmass of 5,360 squre miles, with Andros being the largest island and many of the smaller islands being privately owned.
Whilst Andros is the largest island in the Bahamas, Nassau is the commercial centre and capital of the Bahamas.

Property prices in the Bahamas are very varied with many reasonably priced condo developments and at the other end of the market, expensive private islands, sometimes with their own runways for the owners to fly in on their executive jets.

Being flat coral islands, with just a few gentle hills, the topography poses few spoefic challenges and  homes built in the Bahamas cover a wide range of styles and sizes from modern condominium blocks to town houses and grand colonial homes with swimming pools.
